MANAGEMENT OF LEGAL AND TRUST COSTS.   

The economic climate and the changes being brought about under Lord Justice Jackson’s civil costs reforms will see the biggest ever changes in legal costs.

As from 1st January 2012, under a chambers  concept  3 of the leading experts in legal costs have joined together to provide the following services;

1.     Advising on and producing  detailed budgets including  potential third party costs.  We can produce a budget at the beginning of any potential action and  update the budget on a regular basis.   We have produced  some of the largest ever budgets in UK legal history up to- £35million.

2.    Where a client is seeking third party funding,  the budget we have produced can be used as part of the risk assessment process.  We can also attend the initial meeting with the third party funder and client to explain/discuss the budget.  We have acted for the majority of the leading UK litigation funders to produce budgets and/or advise on budgets produced by law firms.

3.    The introduction of specific clients to suitable funders. In 2011 we  introduced a client  with a potential claim exceeeding £50million to a major litigation funder. We are presently advising 2 clients seeking funding in 2012 with both claims  exceeding £100million.

4. Managing  Legal and  Trust costs from the start of the process to more advanced billing procedures such as e-billing.

5.     The provisions of general advice on all aspects of commercial costs in the UK and offshore.
